Admitted to BAR: 1974 Trial Counsel for the Department of Correction, and in 1980. Appointed: 1989, by Gov. Michael S. Dukakis Sarah B. Singer has been First Justice of the Natick District Court since 1989. She began her career in 1975 with Bingham Dana & Gould. In 1977, she became Trial Counsel for the Department of Correction, and in 1980 the Sole Practitioner in Newton. She returned to firm practice in 1984, this time with Rivkind Baker & Golden, until becoming Counsel for the Board of Bar Overseers in 1985. Judge Singer is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, American Bar Association, Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers, Massachusetts Association of Trial Lawyers, Middlesex County Bar Association, and Massachusetts Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the Boston College Law School Alumni Association. Judge Singer spent a year on the Board of Editors for Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and has published several works, including "Stress and the Solo Practitioner," which was in the Boston Bar Journal in 1987. She has also been an editor for Massachusetts Attorney Discipline Reports and On the Docket, the newsletter of the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers.
